Description

Movement-Maker Gatherings are a space for learning how to grow in our knowledge and skills to address bias and intentional harm and develop language and practices to confront threats against our siblings. These sessions will also provide opportunities to nurture our souls, develop daily self-care and healing practices, and strengthen bonds of trust through mutual respect and deep listening. Each Gathering is crafted to nourish and refresh our souls when the “isms” of life wear us down, cause anxiety, and lead us to believe the racial justice journey is impossible, and building a just world for all is too grand to envision.

Movement-Maker Gatherings are journey sessions. We gather to:

  • Attend to sacred self-care;
  • Develop strategies and skills for sustaining ourselves in the work;
  • Acknowledge and address the need for healing and repair;
  • Confront our fears so we can build authentic relationships of trust;
  • Listen to another’s truth;
  • Strengthen our internal muscles to address inequities and injustice and correct narratives that misrepresent our siblings;
  • Imagine together and practice what a just world for all looks and feels like.
